8 hours day, went fishing in afternoon.

a terrible hot day went to town
24 October Saturday
rose at 6 o’clock and went to Adelaide at 9.48. got catalogues of Farm Implements and bought Book 12/– on vegetable culture. 104° shade
25 October Sunday 20th After Trinity 1914
knocked about all day did not steer out all day got to bed at 10 30 during night had heavy thunder storm.
26 October Monday
Went to town paid Land 1–0–0 5/– on 9d Block and 15/– on 12 & 24. Also went and saw about Blocks of ground at Scotts creek Bought Tomato Plants, Dwarf Champions Expenses ?1–5–0 for day
27 October Tuesday
did nothing all day a very rough day. Went to bed at 10.30
28 October Wednesday
Stayed home as usual Made sprayer for George Mildwaters and wrote note to him and Harry got to bed at 10 clock
29 October Thursday
knocked about all day no work still
30 October Friday
Went to town with parcel for George Mildwaters and Harry. Met Carl Mattmann he being also one of the unemployed. Expenses for day 3/6. arrived home at 3 o’clock wrote letters to Sydney for work and also to Melbourne to the secretaries of the two Branches
31 October Saturday
Went over to the Port, Drew ?1–0–0 out of Bank, bought 2 ties one pair Braces and packet cucumber seed, one eye bath total expense for day being 9/7. Went to pictures with Eric in evening, arrived home at 10 30. in good time for bed.
