NO MORE ANZACS: AUSTRALIAN ARMY COPRS FORMED

The Minister of Defence stated today that recently all five Australian divisions had been concentrated into what was now to be known as the Australian Army Corps. A separate corps had been formed of New Zealand and British troops. There is now no Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, and the coined word ‘Anzacs’ ceases to have significance for troops at the front.

MRS WALSH RELEASED

Mrs Walsh, better known as Miss Pankhurst, who was sentenced early in October to four months imprisonment on a charge of having encouraged the destruction of property, was today released from gaol on account of ill health. She undertook to be of good behaviour for the duration of the unexpired portion of her term.
