STATE ELECTIONS
At a special meeting of the Executive Council, held on Tuesday morning, his Excellency the Governor signed the writs for the election of a new House of Assembly and ten members for five districts of the Legislative Council. The date of nomination has been fixed for March 15 and the elections will be held on Saturday April 6.

To the strains of ‘Home, sweet home’ played by the Mitcham Camp Band, there steamed in to Adelaide railway station just after 9 o’clock on Tuesday morning the special train from Melbourne, carrying about 100 soldiers returned from the front… There was a large gathering of friends of the men, who gave them hearty greeting…

‘A Federal prices order was gazetted tonight fixing the maximum prices chargeable for bread in South Australia… The public will probably want to know why, with millions of bushels of wheat that cannot be sent out of the country, the price of bread should be raised.’
