Terrell, Frederick Leopold – July 1918
4 July Thursday
Sighted land at 9.30 AM. changed our course at 12 noon and headed for Cape Town had a beam sea. arrived at 3.40 P.M Went ashore at 7.15 PM. and went to the Pictures. The Cape is a funny situated place .surrounded on 2 side by sea & on the others by rugged country.
6 July Saturday
Left Cape Town at 1.45 PM, and made straight out to sea.
30 July Tuesday
Sighted land at daybreak, first since leaving the Cape have had fair run and the last 6 days has been exceedingly smooth weather
31 July Wednesday
Arrived at New Pier at 11 AM & had to wait until 2.30 PM for the cars to arrive. Then after all the soldiers had gone no one troubled about our party & were an hour before we were fixed up, & on our way from the ship. on our arrival at Barracks we were dismissed until morning.
